CRUZGEOSCIENCE

Independent exploration consultancy

Structural clarity for better exploration decisions.

Cruz Geoscience helps exploration and mining companies understand what controls their mineralization, map what matters and focus drilling on the targets most likely to succeed.

Why Cruz Geoscience

Senior expertise, applied where your project needs it

We work with junior explorers, mining companies, joint ventures and geological surveys that need experienced structural and exploration input without adding permanent headcount.

Structure first

In deformed terrains, structure controls where ore sits. We build a robust structural framework before targets are ranked, so drilling tests geology rather than geochemical noise.

Field and desk combined

Remote sensing, geophysics and legacy data guide the fieldwork, and field observations correct the interpretation. Clients get one coherent picture, not separate reports.

Knowledge that stays

We work alongside your geologists in the field and through workshops, so the structural understanding stays with your team after the engagement ends.

Services

From the outcrop to the drill target

Structural geology

Field structural analysis, litho-structural interpretation and 3D structural modelling to define the deformation history of your project or belt and the structural controls on mineralization.

Geological mapping

Mapping campaigns at every scale, from regional (1:1,000,000) to detailed project mapping (1:5,000 to 1:500) and underground face mapping, supported by remote sensing for litho-structural and regolith interpretation.

Target generation and project evaluation

Definition, ranking and prioritisation of exploration targets from deposit models and integrated datasets, plus independent evaluation of districts, prospects and mining waste sites for acquisition or investment decisions.

Drilling programme support

Drill programme design, drillhole planning, core logging and sampling protocols, and set-up or audit of QA/QC systems.

3D geological modelling

Geological, structural and ore block models in Leapfrog Geo/Edge, Vulcan and ArcGIS Pro to support resource estimation, mine planning and near-mine exploration.

Data review and integration

Validation of exploration databases and design of data workflows across platforms such as IMDEX HUB, KRUX Analytics and ioGAS, so your data is ready for interpretation and reporting.

Technical reporting and advisory

Geological syntheses, technical reports, maps and independent technical opinions to support board, partner and investment decisions.

Training and structural workshops

Field mentoring and structured workshops for your geologists on structural data collection, interpretation and modelling.

Engagements

Ways to work with us

Every engagement starts with a written scope of work and budget, agreed before any work begins.

Field

Mapping campaigns

Field programmes of one to several weeks, from reconnaissance to detailed structural mapping of priority areas.

Desk

Structural reviews

Remote review of existing maps, geophysics, drilling and models, with a structural interpretation and recommended targets.

Retainer

Ongoing technical support

A set number of days each month combining remote work and field visits, for programmes that need continuity.

Training

Workshops

On-site or remote structural geology workshops tailored to your project and your team's experience.

Approach

A clear sequence, from desk to drill target

  1. Integrate

We review and combine your available data, from magnetics and satellite imagery to historical maps and drilling, into a preliminary structural interpretation.

  2. Validate in the field

The interpretation is tested and refined on the ground, with your geologists working alongside us.

  3. Refine the mapping

Mapping is progressively refined from district scale down to detailed 1:5,000 lithological and structural maps over the areas that matter most.

  4. Model and target

Priority areas go into 3D structural models that link geology, structure and mineralization and directly inform targeting and drilling.

Experience

Track record

Cruz Geoscience brings more than 15 years of hands-on exploration and mining experience across VMS, orogenic gold and base metal systems.

Saudi Arabia · Arabian Shield

VMS Cu-Zn-Au exploration

Exploration from licence start-up to resource definition: more than 27,000 m of drilling, target generation over new areas, detailed 1:500 to 1:5,000 mapping and the 3D litho-structural model behind a completed Mineral Resource Estimate.

Portugal · Iberian Pyrite Belt

Underground Cu-Zn mining

Underground mapping, grade control, production and exploration drilling, and 3D lithological, structural and ore block models at Neves-Corvo, one of Europe's largest underground VMS operations.

About

João da Cruz Correia

Founder and Structural Geologist

Cruz Geoscience was founded by João da Cruz Correia, a structural and exploration geologist who has worked across the full exploration-to-mining cycle in Saudi Arabia, Portugal, Spain, Angola and Morocco.

He has supervised exploration from licence award to Mineral Resource Estimate, built 3D models for an operating underground mine and mapped large areas of greenfield terrain for a national geological survey. He is used to acting as the technical link between field teams, consultants, management and government institutions.

Every Cruz Geoscience engagement is led personally by João, from scoping to final report.
